The Role
As a Clinical Administrator, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the practice by supporting clinicians with essential administrative tasks. You will work closely with GPs, nurses, and the wider admin team to manage patient records, correspondence, and clinical workflow.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Confident using clinical IT systems (e.g. EMIS/SystmOne/Docman training provided if needed).
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent at communication, both written and verbal.
- Flexible and able to prioritise workload in a busy environment.
Previous experience in a GP practice or healthcare setting is essential.

Main duties of the job
The Role
As a Clinical Administrator, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the practice by supporting clinicians with essential administrative tasks. You will work closely with GPs, nurses, and the wider admin team to manage patient records, correspondence, and clinical workflow.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing hospital letters, referrals, and clinical documents accurately and promptly.
- Read-coding and updating patient records in line with practice protocols.
- Handling clinical correspondence and ensuring follow-up actions are completed.
- Supporting the recall system for chronic disease management, immunisations, and screening.
- Liaising with patients, clinicians, and external healthcare providers as required.
- Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with NHS and GDPR standards.
