Job summary

We are currently recruting for a Salaried GP to cover Monday and Wedneasday AM/PM 4 sessions per week at Dudley Park Medical Centre.

Most of our sites are training practices and training in areas of special interest is greatly supported.

We are currently recruiting for a Salaried GP (up to 9 sessions) in various MMP Surgeries.

Candidates with specialist skills, and/or interested in becoming GP trainers/qualified trainers are of particular interest

Main duties of the job

A session for a SGP is 4 hours and 10 minutes in duration and will include the following components:

Approximately 3.5 hours of patient contact per session which may include face to face appointments, home visits and telephone appointments. All surgeries operate a 10 minute appointment system for face to face routine consultations and 5 minute appointments for telephone contact and urgent appointments.

40 minutes per session is dedicated to administration to include correspondence, blood results, repeat prescriptions, reports and QoF, in accordance with the needs of the patients. This list is not intended to be exhaustive but is representative of usual administration.

SGPs in MMP are expected to be on call on a local surgery rota basis. When undertaking on call duties, the surgery management team will make adjustments to the usual duties on that day accordingly. The same will apply when undertaking telephone triage during sessions.

Surgery start and finish times are to be locally agreed with SGPs and surgery management.

Midlands Medical Partnership is a Birmingham super-partnership currently caring for 72,000 Birmingham Cross-City CCG patients across North and South Birmingham operating out of 10 sites.
