Job summary
Northgate Practice are looking for a Medical Receptionist to join our team. You will provide a key service within the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, both in person and via the telephone.
Main duties of the job
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* To ensure an effective and efficient Reception service is provided to patients and other visitors to the practice.
* Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments.
* Ensure that any problems not resolved by the end of a shift are communicated to fellow Receptionists.
* Explain Practice arrangements and formal requirements to patients.
* Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate action.
* Liaise with GPs and carry out tasks requested by them.
* Action repeat prescriptions.
* Chaperone patients in consultations with GPs and Nurses as required (training will be provided)
* Be able to cover for colleagues who are on annual leave or off sick.
Applicant must be able to work 8am starts and 6pm finishes. This is the working pattern we require. Please do not apply if you cannot work these hours.
Monday 8am-6pm, Tuesday 10am-5pm, Wednesday 8am-6pm, Thursday 8am-4pm and Friday 12-6pm.

We have five partners, along with two salaried GPs, a full nursing team, administration and reception teams.
