Northgate Practice are looking for a phlebotomist to join our team. We currently have one part time phlebotomist who works along side our well established nursing team.

Main duties of the job

1. Obtaining patient consent for the collection of a blood sample

2. Performing venepuncture in accordance with practice protocols

3. Maintaining accurate patient records on Emis Web

4. Ensuring samples are sent to the laboratory in a timely manner

5. Working collaboratively with the nursing team, seeking guidance when necessary for patient related matters

6. Cover for phlebotomy colleagues absence

Northgate Practice is a long-established 10,000+ patient, innovative teaching practice, providing undergraduate and postgraduate training. It is situated in a modern, purpose built, multi-disciplinary health centre in Aldridge on the South East Side of Walsall bordering Sutton Coldfield. The Health Centre offers a full range of services including Physiotherapy, Health Visitors, Mental Health Team and a Dental Practice.

Northgate Practice consists of 5 GP partners who have over 45 years of combined GP experience, covering a wide range or specialities. The partners are committed to supporting all staff employed by the practice.

They have invested in an excellent nursing team, experienced administration team and a Pharmacy Technician. Also offering Enhanced Services including AQP contracts for Anti-Coagulation, Extended Minor Surgery and a wide range of family planning services. The Practice works closely in collaboration with other local practices and leads the East 2 PCN. Northgate Practice has an excellent record of QOF achievement, is rated CQC 'Good'.

Northgate Practice has a low GP staff turnover.
