Job summary
As Practice Manager, you will be integral to the successful operation of overseeing business, financial, and human resources aspects, and ensuring optimal patient care. This is a varied and demanding role that requires strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement. You will work closely with our Managing/Clinical Partners and staff to manage and coordinate all aspects of practice functionality, motivate the team, and ensure we meet our strategic objectives in a safe and effective working environment.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring efficient processes and effective appointment systems.
Financial Management: Support the Partners in developing and implementing processes to achieve financial targets.
Human Resources: Lead on staff recruitment, training, supervision, and performance management, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
Compliance & Governance: Ensure the practice complies with CQC regulations, NHS contractual obligations, and information governance requirements, including GDPR.
Strategic Development: Contribute to practice strategy, identify opportunities and threats, and lead or coordinate projects for practice development.
Patient Services: Optimise patient experience and service delivery, manage patient records, and address patient concerns or complaints.
IT Systems: Ensure all practice IT and telephone systems function effectively and stay abreast of new technology.
Premises and Equipment: Manage all aspects of the practice premises, ensuring they are safe, effective, and fit for purpose.
Communication & Relationships: Maintain strong internal communication and build good working relationships with NHS England, ICBs, community agencies, and the Primary Care Network (PCN).
