We are looking for a Part time (three days a week) skilled, experienced & enthusiastic Practice Nurse who has experience of managing nursing care in General Practice. Applicants must be able to cope with the pressures and demands of a very busy inner city teaching practice in Whitechapel (Tower Hamlets).

The successful candidate will have:

  • A recognised qualification in Nursing
  • Good I.T. skills - knowledge of EmisWeb
  • Excellent organisational, communication and clinical skills
  • Ability to understand caseload and audit standards of nursing care appropriately
  • An understanding of QOF, CQC and enhanced services
  • The ability to multitask, be flexible and to remain calm when working under pressure
  • Chronic disease management
  • Childhood immunisations
  • Cervical screening
  • Travel Vaccination Clinic
  • Flu Vaccinations
  • New patient checks
  • NHS health checks
  • Suture removal /Wound care
  • Contraception pill review/HRT checks
  • ECGs
  • Spirometry
  • Health promotion & screening

Administration of Depo injections, Zoladex, B12

Assisting GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings (when required)

Albion Health Centre is a friendly training practice with approximately 10,000 patients. We are based in Tower Hamlets (Whitechapel), very close to the Royal London Hospital and Whitechapel Tube station. Whitechapel station is an interchange station for London Underground, Overground and Elizabeth Line services.

We work with a multidisciplinary team, with a huge variety of skills and expertise within the practice. We are supported by a GP trainer, GP with Dermatology Speciality, Practice Nurse, HCA, Phlebotomist, Pharmacist, Physiotherapist, CMHT and other allied health professionals within the practice.

We are keen to support the development of new staff with regular supervision by a senior GP on site. We have regular practice meetings, clinical meetings, MDT meetings and regular mentoring and supervision meetings with a GP trainee

They will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care for patients within the general practice. They will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures, and providing nurse leadership as required. In order to work at this level, NMC requirements for advanced practice must be met.
