To be considered for this role, you must be prepared to undertake and pass an NVQ2 in Pharmacy Services or an accredited equivalent course, as well as a Medicine Counter Assistant (MCA) qualification.
Additionally, we are looking for candidates with experience working in a customer-focused environment and a strong understanding of confidentiality, and the ability to work accurately.

Main duties of the job
What your working day will look like:
- Participating in all branch processes
- Building positive relationships with customers, patients, and healthcare professionals
- Assisting in the delivery of pharmacy services
- Serving as an ambassador for Helmsley Pharmacy, representing the company and interacting with the community on a daily basis
Monday to Friday (between 9 and 6 shifts to be discussed)

Helmsley Pharmacy is located within Helmsley Medical Centre
in the heart of the North York Moors National Park. Whilst we are approximately
45 minute drive from both York and Middlesbrough, we support a rural population
and their health needs.

Job Summary
To be responsible for the
processing of prescriptions in accordance with practice policy and extant
legislation.
The
following are the core responsibilities of the Trainee Dispenser. There may be,
on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent
upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
a. Dispensing medicines to the entitled
population safely and accurately
b. Collecting prescription charges in
accordance with dispensary protocol
c. Maintaining stock levels within the
dispensary, liaising with the dispensary manager to facilitate reordering
d. Receiving and storing supplies in
accordance with current policy, ensuring the cold chain is maintained where
applicable
e. Ensuring controlled drugs are dispensed
in accordance with practice policy
f. Ensuring safe disposal of returned
and/or out of date medicines
g. Always maintaining a clean and safe
working environment
h. Always maintain accurate records, including
appropriate coding entries
In
addition to the primary responsibilities, the Trainee Dispenser may be
requested to:
a. Partake in audit as directed by the
audit lead
b. Remain current with the latest guidance
ensuring the dispensary conforms to NICE, CQC, etc. guidance
