Job summary

To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception and administrative duties and the provision of general support to the GP's team. Duties can include but are not limited to, answering the telephone, greeting and directing patients, patient registration, booking appointments, dealing with medical records in and out, referrals, scanning letters, taking payments, processing of information (electronic and hard copy) and assisting patients as required. To act as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies.

Main duties of the job

Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system

Process appointment requests whether made in person, via telephone or email

Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with requests appropriately, booking in patients

Process incoming and outgoing post

Photocopy documentation as required

Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required

Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents topatients healthcare records

Process requests for information, insurance / solicitors letters and forms requiring GP completion

Assist with GPA's workload where required (typing of clinical referral

Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times

Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested

Type up clinical minutes for meetings
