Job summary
To
provide high-quality, patient-centred clinical support within the GP Practice,
working under the supervision of registered clinicians. The HCA will assist
with clinical duties, health promotion, chronic disease management support, and
administrative tasks to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care for
patients.
Main duties of the job
Clinical
Duties:Undertake
clinical observations including blood pressure, pulse, temperature,
respirations, height, weight, and BMI; Phlebotomy; Conduct ECGs; Perform
urinalysis and other point-of-care tests; Administer
influenza and other vaccines if appropriately trained and authorised;Undertake wound
care, simple dressings, and removal of sutures/clips; Assist in chronic
disease management (e.g., COPD reviews, asthma assessments, diabetic foot
checks) within agreed protocols; Prepare, clean,
and restock clinical and treatment rooms; Carry out
infection prevention and control tasks according to NHS Wales standards; Carry out and
complete Waste Management Audit; Support GP in
room and consent preparation for Intrauterine Contraceptive Device (IUCD)
service

protocols, policies, and safeguarding procedures; Attend team meetings; Mandatory training
