Clinical Administrator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Administrator to join Dartmouth Medical Practice for 20-30 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will be responsible for maintaining and updating the practices patient recall processes in line with agreed protocols, ensuring that patients are invited for appropriate reviews in a timely manner. The role will support the delivery of effective patient care by coordinating health checks and follow-up appointments, helping to ensure these are completed efficiently.

A key aspect of the role will involve maintaining accurate clinical coding within patient records, alongside assisting with the management and processing of clinical correspondence. The postholder will also provide administrative support to the medical secretarial team, contributing to the overall efficiency of the service. In addition, the role will include undertaking a variety of general administrative duties as required to support the day-to-day operations of the practice.

About us

We are a busy GP practice serving in excess of8,000patients, based at the Health & Wellbeing Centre at the top of Dartmouth.

Our practice includes 5 Partner GPs, 6 Salaried GPs, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, a strong nursing team, and an excellent admin/reception team. We are also a Training Practice with links to BRNC.

Clinical Administrator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Administrator to join Dartmouth Medical Practice for 25-30 hours per week.

The role requires excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload with changing deadlines and priorities. Attention to detail, accuracy in documentation and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Previous NHS or General Practice experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

Main Responsibilities

Manage and maintain the Practices recall system in line with internal policies and procedures

Support patient care by ensuring health checks and reviews are arranged and completed promptly

Ensure accurate clinical readcoding

Contribute to the processing and management of clinical correspondence

Support to the medical secretary team

Carry out additional administrative duties as required to support practice operations
