Job summary

Were looking for a motivated and detail-focused Dispenser to join our friendly and supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about patient care and enjoys working in a busy, collaborative healthcare environment.

As a key member of the dispensary team, youll play an important role in ensuring patients receive their medications safely, accurately, and efficiently, while delivering a high standard of service.

Working Pattern

Week 1

  • Monday: 08:30 15:00
  • Tuesday: 09:30 17:00
  • Friday: 08:30 16:00

Week 2

  • Monday: 08:30 15:00
  • Tuesday: 09:30 17:00
  • Friday: 10:45 18:15

Main duties of the job

  • Dispensing prescriptions accurately and ensuring all medications are labelled in line with legal and professional standards
  • Supporting the preparation of medications within the dispensary
  • Providing clear, helpful advice to patients on medication use, including dosage, storage, and potential side effects
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records at all times
  • Working closely with the Dispensary Manager to manage stock levels, including ordering and replenishment
  • Monitoring expiry dates and ensuring safe disposal of out-of-date medications
  • Keeping the dispensary clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards

About us

Our Team:Hibaldstow Medical Practice is a small, friendly rural dispensing practice serving approximately 3,500 patients across a wide geographical area of around 120 square miles. Our close-knit team includes two GPs, two practice nurses, a nurse associate, a healthcare assistant, eight dispensers, four receptionists, two administrators and a practice manager. We work collaboratively to provide high-quality, patient-focused care to our local community.
