arisen to join a small, friendly and dedicated team at The Calow and Brimington
Practice as a Lead Practice Nurse. All working hours will be considered.

excellent non-clinical team working across two sites.
Main duties of the job
The Lead Nurse will provide
clinical and professional leadership to the nursing and healthcare assistant
team. The post holder will ensure nursing services are delivered effectively to
the patient population.

care to patients including, all chronic disease management, wound care,
cervical cytology, ear care and other duties.
The post holder will line manage
the nursing and healthcare assistant team, ensuring high quality patient centred

The Lead Nurse is responsible
for leading and directing the development of new services and patient care
pathways, ensuring they match the needs of patients.

providing excellent patient care. We have a list size of approx. 7850. we are
based close to Chesterfield town centre with good transport links.

Job responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the Lead Practice Nurse. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
- As the clinical lead, you will have overall line management responsibility for the practice nursing/HCA team
- Provide clinical leadership to the nursing/HCA team
- Act as Infection Control Lead for the practice, ensuring policies are up to date, managing the practice to ensure we are achieving and maintaining standards and requirements
- Mentor new nursing staff
- Support the development of others to maximise staff potential in the team
- Identify the potential for service developments, risk and deficits and inform practice manager making recommendations based on specialist knowledge
- Undertake one-to-ones, appraisals, clinical education, and other practice-wide learning events and meetings
- To provide routine nursing care to patients as required in accordance with clinical based evidence, NICE and the NSF
- Play a key role in our practice management team
- Act as a clinical leader in the delivery of practice nursing services to patients, ensuring that the needs of the patient are the priority
- Lead the nursing/HCA team in the planning and implementation of local guidelines, protocols, and standards, as well as local projects or initiatives
- Work with our practice management team to ensure we monitor practice performance of QOF and enhanced services regularly to achieve high standards of patient care
- Take responsibility for own development, learning, and performance, including organising clinical supervision where appropriate and acting as a positive role model

- To delegate clinical responsibilities appropriately (ensuring safe practice and the task is within the scope of practice of the individual)
