Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly new Health Care Assistant to join our practice.

The successful candidate will have previous experience of working as a Health Care Assistant and strive to maintain the quality within the practice. You will recognise the importance of effective communication within the team and with patients. Communication skills are key as is the ability to work well under pressure.

Main duties of the job

  • Phlebotomy
  • Health Care Checks (measuring and recording height, weight, BP & lifestyle etc)
  • ECG
  • Dressings
  • Immunisations
  • Diabetic foot checks

About us

We are a friendly, long-established NHS General Practice in the heart of Llanishen village, North Cardiff.

Our practice is run by 5 doctors in partnership. We have additional salaried doctors, practice nurses and healthcare assistants.

We provide friendly, evidence based medical care for all of our patients. We consistently achieve excellent results in the NHS quality outcomes framework.

We have approximately 9,800 patients. Both English and Welsh are spoken at the practice.

Job responsibilities

As a key member of our practice, you will provide essential support to our clinical team in delivering the highest standards of patient care. You will work under indirect supervision of out other healthcare professionals to provide services such as phlebotomy, dressings, ECG, immunisations, health care checks (height, weight, BP, etc), and diabetic foot checks.

  • Day shift

  • Immunisation: 1 year (required)
