Job summary
At The University Health Centre we are dedicated to providing the highest standard of care, we have approximately 15,000 patients.
We are looking for an experienced medical secretary to join our forward thinking team.
We are a large mainly student based practice and and have a variety of staff working here including GP's, ANP's, Nurses, Physio's & Pharmacists.
We are also a training practice for GP registrars and medical students.
We are part of the Tolson Primary Care Network and we work together to provide a full range of enhanced services.
Main duties of the job
Main duties and responsibilities
To provide full medical secretarial support for all members
of the Health Care Team within the Health Centre, including word processing, dealing
with mail both inwards and outwards.
ThePostholder will need to be able to utilise the E-Referral system
efficiently.
To liaise with consultants, patients, relatives, other
outside agencies and members of the University, answering enquiries as
appropriate.
Role to be mainly secretarial but with reception duties at
the discretion of the Practice Management, i.e. to optimise cover in all areas
as required to provide full reception cover, i.e. making of appointments, answering
phone calls, dealing with patients both at the front desk and face to face.
To help to collate
reliable statistics in-house.
Being polite and courteous to all persons in contact with
the Health Centre, its patients and the staff who work there.
Acting always in the best interest of the Health Centre, its
patients and the staff who work there.
Undertaking any other tasks as may be appropriately assigned
by the Partners or Management Team
