Job summary

As part of the practice succession planning program due to the impending retirement of the current post holder, we are delighted to offer the position of Practice Manager.

This is a great opportunity to learn the role of Practice Manager, while the current post holder is in post.

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated member of staff to join our supportive and high-performing GP Practice team.This position is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong administration, financial and analytical skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the practice, ensuring that the practice complies with the latest legislation, NHS guidelines and is CQC compliant.

Main duties of the job

The position of Practice Manager requires a self-motivated, disciplined individual to take ownership of the efficient day to day running of the practice, supporting the partners and working as a key member of the management team. The post holder will offer strong leadership with business, financial and people skills to continue to drive the practice forward by identifying, and acting on, practice and business opportunities. To manage and support the Operations Manager in all aspects of practice functionality, motivating and managing staff, optimising efficiency and overall performance, ensuring the practice achieves its long-term strategic objectives in a safe and effective working environment. To cover key areas of the Operations Manager work in their absence.

  • Experience of performance management, including
  • appraisal writing, staff development and disciplinary
  • procedures
  • Experience of successfully developing and

  • Experience of workforce planning, forecasting and

  • NHS / Primary Care General Practice experience
