Job Summary
Broom Lane Medical Centre is looking to recruit an
experienced Band 7 Practice Nurse to join our clinical team. The vacancy arises
out of the retirement of a longstanding member of staff.
You would be joining our large practice team delivering
primary care to our 15,000 patients over three sites. Working independently but
with the support of a variety of clinical colleagues, you will deliver primary
care nursing to our practice population, with a focus on the management of
chronic diseases.
We are ideally looking for 25-30 hours worked per week
and experience in general practice. Independent prescriber status aspirational
but not essential.
Main duties of the job
Main duties of the job
To deliver nursing care to our practice population,
working alongside our Lead Nurse, fellow band 7 nurses, a new treatment room
nurse role and our HCAs and phlebotomists. A particular focus will be chronic
disease management of asthma, COPD, diabetes and hypertension as part of a wide
range of nursing roles.

We are a long established large GP practice based at
Broom Lane, wand a large branch at Kimberworth Park. In total we have around 15,000 patients across two sites. We have just completed a major rebuild and remodel at the Broom Lane site making us a desirable place to work .
Our staffing team consists of six GP partners with a
variety of specialist interests, four salaried doctors, Practice
Management team, administration department and two reception teams working
alongside our nursing team as above. We are well connected with our Primary
Care Network and utilise ARRS staff including pharmacy team, social prescribers, physios and mental health practitioners to better resource our patient care.

Various injections contraception, hormone
treatments, B12 etc
Travel vaccines
Ear syringing

Anticoagulation INR dosing
Additional clinical work to be completed when required:
BP checks
Phlebotomy
12 lead ECG
Suture removal
Chaperone
NHS Health Checks
SMI review/health check
Learning Disability health checks
The successful post holder will work effectively as part
of our clinical team, maintaining the highest standards of professional
integrity, confidentiality, medical documentation, professional dress and
health and safety working. They will participate in the ongoing CPD programme
within the surgery and with appraisals as required.

- Requesting pathology tests and processing the results, advising patients accordingly
