Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Nurse Manager to join our large, multi-disciplinary team at Hall Green Health. You will lead, support, motivate and develop our Practice Nurses and Healthcare Assistants to achieve high standards of clinical care and patient safety.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of leading / managing a team ideally within a Primary Care setting and will be capable of providing a strong focus for both people management and clinical efficiency to maximise the nursing services offered to our large and diverse patient population.

You will also be experienced in the provision of a wide range of Practice Nursing duties supporting clinical activities as well as a nursing team workforce management and development. It is anticipated the role will involve a 30/70 split between management and clinical duties.

Main duties of the job

Main duties include:

  • Clinical activities working directly with our patients.
  • Acting as the Practice's infection prevention and control lead.
  • Cold chain management.
  • Management of the nursing team and all day-to-day nursing resources.
  • Contributing to clinical governance and audits.
  • Implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures.
  • Service development and quality assurance activities.
  • Deliver and comply with HR processes for team management including recruitment, appraisal, performance management and development.

About us

We are a large, innovative GMS Practice based in Hall Green, Birmingham with a registered list size of 32,000. We have a good reputation in our locality and with patients, and a strong focus on patient care.

Our extensive clinical team includes 9 GP Partners, 17 Salaried GPs, plus a range of allied health professionals including Nursing, PAs, Clinical Pharmacists and Physiotherapists. Our supporting non-clinical team provide a full range of reception, administration and management functions. As part of Community Care Hall Green PCN we are further supported by a range of clinical and non-clinical AARS staff.

We work collaboratively, continually looking for opportunities to improve our services and actively support the wellbeing of one another. Our services have a good CQC rating with outstanding well led features and we regularly achieve high QOF performance. We continue to be at the forefront of digital healthcare innovation and actively engage with our patients and PPG to expand, improve and trial new service initiatives.
