Due to retirement and career changes, we have opportunities for enthusiastic, highly motivated salaried General Practitioners to join our friendly and supportive team. Whether you are newly qualified or an experienced GP, joining us will provide opportunities for ongoing career development to enhance skills or areas of interest. Ideally we are looking for GPs who can 4 - 9 mutually agreed sessions per week.
Our large, innovative Practice is committed to investing in our staff with regular opportunities for feedback, protected learning time events and continuing professional development. Most of our GPs develop leadership roles for areas of interest and are supported in the development of portfolio careers. We are also keen to invest in the future workforce and as a training practice provide learning and development to trainees and students, some of whom join us permanently following qualification.
We are part of Community Care PCN comprised of 3 local practices and our large cohort of additional roles staff support and share the delivery of clinical care ensuring our patients see the right clinician for their needs. Our dedicated, multi-disciplinary team are passionate about providing excellent care for our patients and successful candidates will be committed to delivering safe general practice services by working in partnership with our patients.
Main duties of the job
To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to our practice population of 31,500 patients, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with our Practice and PCN multi-disciplinary teams.
You will undertake a variety of GP duties including surgery and telephone patient consultations, online, telephone and in person triage of patients, home visits, referrals, test results, prescriptions, dealing with queries, clinical administration, reports and correspondence.
You will take responsibility for professional, autonomous decisions in relation to assessing presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers. Support screening of patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness and manage long-term conditions and patients with complex problems.
You will have a strong focus on patient care and quality standards, ensuring clear and contemporaneous consultation notes, accurate record coding and diagnosis, and complying with audits for QOF / Enhanced Services etc.

We are a large, innovative GMS Practice based in Hall Green Birmingham with an increasing patient list of 31,500 patients. We have a good reputation in our locality and with patients, and a strong focus on patient care.
Our extensive clinical team incorporates 9 GP Partners and 17 Salaried GPs, plus a full range of allied health professionals including Nursing, HCAs, ANPs, Paramedic, PAs, Clinical Pharmacists and Physiotherapists, supported by a large non-clinical team providing a full range of reception, administration and management functions. As part of Community Care Hall Green PCN we are further supported by a range of clinical and non-clinical AARs staff.
We work together collaboratively, continually look for ways to improve our services and actively support the wellbeing of one another. Our services have a good CQC rating with outstanding well led features and we regularly achieve high QOF performance. We continue to be at the forefront of digital healthcare innovation and actively engage with our patients and PPG to expand, improve and trial new service initiatives.
