Job summary
We are seeking a friendly, conscientious person who can work under pressure efficiently and productively. They must be committed to providing excellent patient care, reliable with a professional approach to work.
The ideal candidate will require excellent communication and IT skills with a preferred working knowledge of SystmOne. Training on computer systems and internal processes will be provided.
As part of the interview process, successful candidates will be required to attend a 4hr unpaid work trial to gain understanding of the role and provide an opportunity to meet the team. This will be organised within 1 week of the interview.
Main duties of the job
Medical Reception staff are representatives of the practice and therefore it is essential the post-holder will:
Ensure that patients are received in a courteous, reassuring and non-judgemental manner
Ensure that patients needing urgent attention are seen in a logical and non-disruptive manner
Explain practice arrangements to new patients and those seeking temporary help
Ensure that correct procedures are carried out
Undertake a wide range of clerical tasks, have excellent keyboard skills and knowledge of word processing and data inputting
Be required to work on their own initiative and be first point of contact for the building in which they are based
Provide a administrative and secretarial support function to the Practice
To be able to work with minimum supervision within the parameters of this job description
To be part of the multi-disciplinary team and to act as a team member
