Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Paramedic to join our PCN team.

Ivel Valley South PCN cover the following surgeries: Dr Baxter & Partners, Larksfield and Arlesey Branch Surgery and Lower Stondon Surgery, covering a population of over 40,000 patients across Central Bedfordshire.

As a paramedic working for a busy PCN you would need to work within the community, using your skills and clinical judgement to provide a first point of contact for our patients that present to us with minor illnesses and conditions.

Main duties of the job

To support and work alongside the duty team who deals with all the acute/on-the-day patients. This role will involve assessment, diagnosis and treatment of these patients who present with undiagnosed conditions.

This position will also include visiting housebound patients to assess, diagnose and treat when they are unable to access their practice.

  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Basic IT skills in word processing and e-mail
  • Experience of working with vulnerable patients

Desirable

  • Experience of the ECP/Advanced Practitioner role within Primary or Secondary Care
  • Experience in using systmone
  • Non-medical prescriber with minimum 12 months experience
