Part time, 16-24 hours per week with flexibility, Permanent.
Interviews will be held on the 20th of November 2025 at Buckden Surgery.
Buckden and Little Paxton Surgeries are looking for a motivated
and enthusiastic Practice Nurse to join our friendly team. The successful
candidate must be NMC registered. Experience in respiratory care (eg asthma and
COPD management) is desirable, however for the right candidate we are willing
to provide training and support to develop this specialism.
Responsible to the Partners (Clinically) and the Practice Managers
(Administratively)

Main duties of the job

The practice nurse will provide nursing treatments to
patients in the following areas;
Provide general nursing services in line with
practice protocols
Chronic disease management
Vaccinations and immunisations (adults and
child)
Administration of medication via injections (S/C
and I/M)
Wound care and management
Cervical cytology (if trained)
Telephone advice
Blood samples, Swabs, Cervical Screening
Health promotion
Travel Health Advice
Ear Care
Emergency Management Anaphylaxis and
respiratory techniques
To assist GPs with any minor surgery /
operations, as required
Family planning / womens health
Supporting QOF and other practice targets
Chaperoning

and efficient service to our patients.
About us
We have a hard-working, friendly and dedicated team of 4 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, 3 Registrars, 1 ANP, a highly skilled nursing team and outstanding administrative support teams. We run a total triage appointment system triaged by the duty doctor. Our dispensing practice serves over 10,500 patients across two sites.
All staff members at the practice are supported by the Partners and the Practice Managers. We are a training practice CQC rated outstanding. We are members of the A1 Network PCN and we run an NHS Community Dermatology, Lymphoedema and Vasectomy clinics for the ICB.
