Job summary
The Clinical Physician Assistant (PA) will work as part of the general practice multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, patient-centred clinical care under the supervision of a named GP. The role includes assessment and management of patients presenting with a wide range of acute, chronic, and preventative healthcare needs.
In addition, the post holder will actively support primary carebased research and quality improvement projects, including patient identification and recruitment, data collection, and study delivery, contributing to the practices research portfolio and evidence-based service development.
Main duties of the job
Clinical Responsibilities

Conduct patient consultations (face-to-face, telephone, and digital) for acute, chronic, and preventative care

Take comprehensive medical histories and perform appropriate physical examinations

Formulate differential diagnoses and management plans under GP supervision

Manage long-term conditions in line with local and national guidelines

Request, review, and act on investigations within scope of practice

Provide follow-up care, safety-netting, and appropriate onward referrals

Contribute to health promotion, screening, and vaccination programmes

Research Responsibilities (Primary Care Focus)
