Job summary

Eynsham Medical Group is an innovative and forward thinking practice, which has allowed us to adapt to the rapid changes in general practice.

Main duties of the job

We run a list-based system for continuity and a total triage system, which allows us to choose how and when I see our patients each day. This includes 3 follow-up calls, 3 eConsults and 8 same-day calls. We cover several nursing homes in the area that we visit virtually or in person, which provides a change in scenery and the type of patient care. We are also a research practice, so we recruit our patients into different trials, depending on which are currently running. It turns out we’ve become rather good at this winning the RCGP and National Institute of Health Research practice research award 2021. Yes, it was jointly with our buddy PCN practice.

About us

We are a dynamic 15,000 patient teaching, training and research practice, at the forefront of medical informatics, involved in local medical leadership looking for a 4 - 6 session GP. Both our sites are semi-rural and dispensing, within cycle-distance from Oxford city. We moved into brand new purpose-built premises in April, which includes our own pharmacy. Our patients are appreciative and we have a team of GPs who recognise the importance of a good work-life balance. We work in a locality that offers a visiting service.

You will have 6 weeks annual leave, 1 week study leave and the opportunity to take a sabbatical if you wish. Our salaried GPs have allocated time with their mentor on a six-weekly basis. We meet for coffee twice daily and eat lunch together.
