Job summary

Are you an enthusiastic and motivated Practice Nurse looking to take the next step in your primary care career?

We are looking for an experienced Practice Nurse to join our award-winning practice. We're a friendly, patient-centred GP practice committed to delivering high-quality care. The candidate will undertake all General practice chronic disease management as well as general practice nursing duties, including child / adult vaccinations, wound care and cytology (These 3 accreditations and experience are Mandatory). Should be competent in all QOF chronic disease reviews and immunisations.

We offer a highly competitive rate of pay.

Ideally we are looking for a candidate to work approximately 25 -30 hrs over 5 days, beflexible- ideally AM and PM sessions across main and branch sites. Lots of opportunities for overtime to cover colleagues holidays available.

We would also welcome practice nurses with Non Medical prescribing certificate & minor ailments certificate to apply .

The practice has provided practice nurse VTS training in the past .

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate would have experience and skills in the following areas:

QOF related Chronic Disease Management

Routine immunisations / Childhood immunisation

Performing Cervical Cytology as part of the national screening programme

Providing wound care, dressings, removing sutures etc

ECGs

Venepuncture

Contraception

Knowledge of national and local guidelines with the ability to apply these to individual patients and set targets is essential.

We ask for experience in dealing with above holding a diploma as a minimum

Knowledge of all the chronic disease's is not expected but core knowledge and ability to asses follow up of stable patients based on QOF requirement is a must.

We also offer community surgery at our practices, including onsite Carpal Tunnel Surgery, conducted by Orthopaedic Consultants. We hold twice weekly suspect cancer clinics which we are only 2 GP practices nationally that do this.

We have a total complement of over 30 staff including GP's, some specialising in Women's Health and Mental Health, HCAs, Nurse Associates, Care Co-ordinators, Physician Associate, Practice pharmacists, MSK practitioners and a dedicated frontline administrative staff.

Hours of work can be from a minimum of 4 hours to a maximum of 37.5 hours ( WTE)

We welcome practice nurses who wish to train to be Advanced Nurse practitioner and or to obtain a prescribing certificate

We have supported such nurses since 2009.

We offer a salary rise after 6 months

Plus a discretionary bonus after the 1st QuoF year completion
