To apply for this role, you must have the right to work in the UK and have been a UK resident for at least three years. Applicants who already hold a Level 3 Business Administration qualification are not eligible for this apprenticeship.

Main duties of the job

In this role, youll be supporting both our patients and the practice team on a daily basis. Youll spend time on the reception desk, welcoming patients and helping with their queries, as well as learning how to manage appointments and keep records up to date. Behind the scenes, youll get involved in a variety of admin tasks such as handling correspondence, preparing documents, and supporting the smooth running of the office. Its a role where no two days are the same, and youll be building skills that will set you up for a successful career in healthcare administration.

  • Answer telephone calls promptly and deal with patient queries or direct them to the appropriate team member.

  • Book, amend, and cancel patient appointments using the clinical system.

  • Assist with handling incoming and outgoing correspondence, including letters, emails, and prescription requests.
