Job summary

Salaried GP 6 - 8 SESSIONS PER WEEK

We are looking for a dedicated, compassionate GP who enjoys a good work-life balance to join our well established team at Munro Medical Centre.

We are a friendly, well organised rural training practice providing excellent patient access and pride ourselves on providing safe & responsive patient care.

We provide services to 23,000 patients and are one of two practices in Spalding PCN with a combined population of approximately 44,000; working collaboratively to deliver smarter, more responsive and more sustainable services to our patients.

Very effective triage system, designed to reduce GP workload.

We have an extensive team including salaried GPs, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, ACPs, Triage, Practice & Mental Health Nurses, HCAs, MSK, FCPs, Pharmacists, Pharmacy Techs, PAs and Care Co-ordinators.

You will be supported by a large administration team with well established systems to support you on a day to day basis with results, referrals & clinic letters etc.

This role will be funded through ARRS, we are open to discussion regarding sessional rate for the right candidate and based on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a salaried GP you will be responsible for delivering primary medical services to a list of patients ensuring a high standard of care for the various needs of the practice population.

Provide face to face and telephone appointments

14 patients per session

Home visiting team provided, therefore, very occasional requirement to undertake home visits.

Duty Clinician less than once per week

Job summary

A Salaried GP works as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care while complying with the contract.

Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

The role is to support, mentor, and supervise other healthcare professionals within the organisation and be an integral part of the general practice team.

Primary key responsibilities

The following are the core responsibilities of the Salaried GP in delivering health services.

a. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population

b. The provision of services commensurate with the primary care contract

c. To clinically examine and assess patient needs from a physiological and psychological perspective and plan clinical care accordingly referring patients to other services/agencies in a timely manner, utilising Practice and any other local guidelines

d. Prescribing adhering to practice formulary, local and national guidance

e. To support patients to adopt health promotion strategies that promote healthy lifestyles and apply principles of self-care.

f. Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks

g. Review medications following the appropriate policies.

h. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance

i. Work collaboratively.

j. Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process

l. Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice

m. Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required

n. Contribute effective to the development and maintenance of the practice including clinical governance and training

o. Be aware of your duties and responsibilities regarding current legislation and adhere to practice policies and procedures on Safeguarding Adults and Safeguarding Children

p. Ensure compliance with the appraisal process

q. Prepare and complete the revalidation process to remain fit to practice

r. Commit to self-learning and continuing professional development

s. Review and always adhere to practice protocols and policies

t. Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, always promoting a culture of continuous improvement

u. To be an integral part of the general practice team as well as supporting the wider network and multi-disciplinary team

v. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks, this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels
