Brownlow
Health have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Nurse for Women's Health. The successful candidate will join the existing team and lead the
development of the LARC service for patients who are registered at the Brownlow Health practices within central Liverpool. In addition, the post
holder will help to develop a Women's Health Hub in line with the national
Women's Health Strategy.
The
post holder will line manage the sexual health and reproductive nursing team as
well as the care coordinator aligned to the service.
The post holder must be able to work
autonomously and across the four pillars of Advanced Practice and will be
competent and confident when dealing with sexual health and contraception
presentations including LARCs. The post holder must be a non-medical prescriber
have completed the FSRH LoC training for subdermal implants (LoC SDI-IR) and
contraceptive coils (LoC IUT). It would be desirable to have a qualification in
gynecology ultrasound. Training on
clinical IT systems will be provided.
Main duties of the job
Lead the
development of womens health hub (WHH) services.
Line
manage the sexual health and reproductive nursing team as well as the care
coordinator aligned to the service.
Write
quarterly report on quality, statistics, achievements and opportunities of WHH.
Attend
city wide, regional and national WHH meetings and conferences.
Liaise
with public health, ICB and other PCNs in relation wo WHH.
Working
as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Management
of patients under the care of Brownlow Health PCN and Liverpool practices for
the treatment of conditions within the practitioners scope of competence. To
provide comprehensive sexual health information, advice, teaching and support
to patients enabling them to select and use a method of contraception suited to
their needs.
Complete
telephone triage prior to patients attending for a LARC appointment.
To
deliver the assessment, insertion, and removal of subdermal implants.
To
deliver the assessment, insertion, and removal of contraceptive coils.
Perform
cervical cytology and assist with specialist clinics.
Extended access will form part of your
contracted hours.
