Job summary

Peterborough Partnerships PCN is looking for an Administration Assistant for 20 hours per week.

This role is a fixed term role until 31/3/24, with a view to extend depending on the PCN Network DES contract.

Main duties of the job

The PCN Administration Assistant is responsible for undertaking a wide range of administrative duties and the provision of administrative support to the Primary Care Network and team.

The PCN Administration Assistant will assist the PCN manager with their relationships and engagement with the PCN practices and other stakeholders across the locality to ensure a collaborative approach to service development and delivery.

The PCN Administration Assistant will work closely with the PCN manager and relevant teams and practices to support network implementation and the standardisation of agreed service changes, contracts, policies, pathways and quality improvement.

The PCN Administration Assistant will assist the PCN manager in ensuring the dissemination of information across the member practices and is tasked with supporting the administration of any shared learning events.

The PCN Administration Assistant will support the PCN manager in the delivery of training and support to PCN staff.

About us

The Primary Care Network (PCN) includes 6 practices - Nightingale Medical Centre, Ailsworth Medical Centre, Westwood Clilnic, Botolph Bridge Medical, The Willow Tree Surgery and The Grange Medical Centre.

The Administration Assistant role is hybrid, working a mixture of at home and in Practice.

Job description

Job responsibilities

The following are the core responsibilities of the PCN Administration Assistant. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.

a. To process incoming and outgoing email

b. To monitor generic PCN email correspondence

c. To support the PCN manager in their role

d. To support the clinical director with general administrative tasks as requested

e. To support in the delivery of enhanced services and other service requirements on behalf of the PCN

f. Support the delivery of QOF / IIF and other quality or cost effectiveness initiatives

g. To support the Covid vaccination programme

h. To participate in the management of patient complaints when requested to do so and participate in the identification of any necessary learning brought about through incidents and near-miss events

i. To undertake all mandatory training and induction programmes

j. To contribute to and embrace the spectrum of clinical governance

k. To attend a formal appraisal with their manager at least every 12 months. Once a performance/training objective has been set, progress will be reviewed on a regular basis so that new objectives can be agreed

l. To contribute to public health campaigns (e.g. flu clinics) through advice or direct care

m. To maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times

Secondary responsibilities

In addition to the primary responsibilities, the Administration Assistant may be requested to:

a. Undertake any tasks consistent with the level of the post and the scope of the role, ensuring that work is delivered in a timely and effective manner

b. Duties may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the post or the level of responsibility
