Job summary
The University of Nottingham Health Service require a highly motivated Health Care Assistant / Phlebotomist to join our experienced and dedicated team at Cripps Health Centre.
Previous experience essential. Including experience in Phlebotomy.
This position is for 22.5 hours per week Wednesday - Friday. Please note, unfortunately due to space restraints there is no other options for working days.

Main duties of the job
Working under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager and the practice nursing team, and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the health care assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care:
- Providing support to the practice nursing team to enable them to function effectively.
- Working within a team, meeting the needs of the patients, and being able to work in a changing environment.
- Collecting venous blood samples from patients as required by the medical staff for laboratory investigations.
- Assisting in minor operations / procedures
- Wound care / dressings
- Providing care to patients according to, and by following, practice approved protocols.
