Job summary
We are currently recruiting a Salaried GP for 5-7 sessions per week to join our friendly, dynamic and proactive team.
As a Salaried GP you will manage your own list proportionate to sessions worked and manage a caseload dealing with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
Main duties of the job
As
our salaried GP you will work autonomously with guidance and support from the Partnership
where required.
Benefits include working in a newly refurbished, expanded, ultra-modern premises with onsite car parking in a central Sutton location. We have low home visit rates and support from locality funded home visiting team. We meet informally daily for coffee and there are regular practice meetings. Personal interests and specialties are welcomed and encouraged.

The Old
Court House Surgery is a well-established high performing practice with around 13,500 registered
patients located in the heart of Sutton and is proactive member of the Central Sutton
Primary Care Network.
Our site
is a large, modern working environment and is home to a workforce of 40+
including PCN/ARRS roles.
We are a
5 partner PMS and training practice using the EMIS web clinical system with a
strong team of highly skilled and experienced healthcare professionals incl
salaried GPs, ANPs, Nurses, HCAs and Phlebotomists working alongside our
excellent team of admin and reception staff.
The successful candidate will be entitled to 6 weeks paid annual leave, 1 weeks paid study leave, relevant BHs (all pro rata) and be auto enrolled into to the NHS pension scheme.

Job responsibilities
- In accordance with the practice timetable, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
- Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
- Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols
- Providing counselling and health education
- Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
- Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
- Collecting data for audit purposes
- Contributing to Practice QOF requirements and recording data appropriately.
- Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
- Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
- In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
- Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety
- A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice
- Contributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation
- Contributing to the development of computer-based patient records
- Contributing to the summarising of patient records and read-coding patient data
- Attending training and events organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate.
