Job summary

Practitioner (PIN is a must) to join the multi-disciplinary team in a busy inner London GP surgery.

The principal task is to support registered nurses and other clinicians to enable them to focus on the more complex clinical care of patients.

As a Nursing Associate, you will be expected to meet the same standards of behaviour and conduct as nurses and midwives and adhere to the sameCodewhich seeks to:

Main duties of the job

To provide and deliver care becoming of someone in your role and profession as a Nurse Associate to patients within the primary care setting.

About us

This is a wonderful opportunity to join a successful training practice in East London as a Nurse Associate. We provide support and mentorship to all staff and aim to reduce administration to the minimum, promoting continuity of care.

You will work with an experienced multi-disciplinary team, including Doctors, Advance Nurse Practitioners, Physician Associates, Practice Nurses and Clinical Pharmacists. We also have a variety of specialist clinics onsite including community gynaecology and diabetes specialist nurse clinics.

We want a team player who is prepared to work flexibly, has a good sense of humour and appreciates strong and supportive teamwork. There is no expectation for any out-of-hours commitment, and we would work with you to develop a flexible package that meets the need for work-life balance.

The surgery has a list size of 12,000, which is incredibly diverse. The Homerton over ground station is a short walk away.

  • - Meets the specific qualification and training requirements as specified in the Nursing Midwifery Standards of proficiency by having undertaken and completed the two-year Foundation Degree delivered by a Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) approved provider
  • - Is registered with the NMC and revalidation is undertaken in line with NMC requirements

Desirable

  • - Experience working in a primary care environment
  • - Ability to work effectively as a team player under appropriate supervision and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • - Understanding of the scope of the role of the nursing associate in the context of the nursing and interdisciplinary team and the organisation and how the role may contribute to service development
