Job summary
  We are seeking to recruit a motivated, committed and enthusiastic full time GP Receptionist to join our dynamic team at The Westbourne Green Surgery and The Connaught Square Practice.
The GP Receptionist is responsible for welcoming, assisting and directing patients in
accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous,
efficient and effective way. He/she will
also provide general assistance to the Practice team and is expected to project
a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors at all times.
  Main duties of the job
  We are looking for someone to join our Front of House team full time, someone with proven customer service experience, who can provide a warm and welcoming service to our patients, who works well under pressure and can adapt quickly in a new team.
This role does not come without its challenges but support is always at hand and you will be provided with on the job training when you join the team.

    As a GP Receptionist you will provide a professional and patient focused service to
our GPs and all patients attending our practice.
Duties
and Responsibilities:
 - Dealing with
 patient queries
- Booking,
 cancelling and amending appointments on SystmOne
- Monitoring
 the flow of patients into the waiting room, ensuring the appointment
 system accurately reflects the arrival of patients
- Using judgement
 and communication skills to ensure that patients with no prior appointment
 but needing urgent consultation are seen in a logical and non-disruptive
 manner
- Explaining
 Practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those
 seeking temporary cover and ensuring procedures are completed
- Answering the
 telephone promptly and conveying messages in a timely manner
- Maintaining a log
 of telephone messages
- Sorting the mail
 and posting letters
- Recording
 admin-related events in SystmOne
- Scanning patient
 correspondence and other papers into the patient record in SystmOne
- Charging patients
 the appropriate amount for private work, providing a receipt to the
 patient and recording the charge on their record
- Recording incoming
 medical forms and requests for To Whom It May Concern letters in the
 form-tracking book
- Accepting requests
 for repeat prescriptions, checking the inbox and prescription box for
 repeat prescription requests, and processing them in a timely manner
- Monitoring repeat
 prescription requests to ensure that patients attend the surgery for
 medication reviews and other health checks
- Alerting the Practice
 Manager or Senior Partner to any complaints or potentially problems
- Monitoring
 GP-Links for registration-related data queries. 
- Opening up the
 Practice in the morning and closing it in the evening according to agreed
 procedures
- Meeting targets
 that are set by the Practice Manager
- Other ad hoc tasks
