Job summary

We are looking for a permanent full time Medical Receptionist to join our team based at Newton Heath Health Centre.

We are a family friendly, busy Practice where patient care is at the heart of what we do.

37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday, hours of work are 09.00-18.00 on 2 days 09.00 -18.30 on 2 days plus one half day per week.  We offer 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays (pro rata) and optional membership of the NHS Pension Scheme.

Main duties of the job

Our reception teams are the first point of contact for our patients and play an important role in understanding patients’ needs, resolving queries, dealing with prescription requests and either booking an appointment with the most appropriate clinician at the practice or signposting the patient to a service outside the practice.

You don’t need to have worked in healthcare before as long as you have excellent people skills, a good attention to detail and you are willing and eager to learn new skills. We will provide in-house training.

We are a long established Practice in North Manchester and we provide services to 7500 patients, some of our patient families are 3rd generation with the Practice.

We serve a diverse population, mainly within the age groups of 16 to 60 years.

We work from a multi-purpose Health Centre and are a busy but friendly team.
