An exciting opportunity has
arisen for an interesting and varied dual role to work supporting our Pharmacist
Team to co-ordinate their workload, in partnership with another Pharmacist
Team co-ordinator, and as a (Trainee) Dispenser based at our Wotter Branch
dispensary.
The
Dispensary role is to prepare and dispense prescriptions and miscellaneous
over-the-counter medicines/appliances, assist with stock control, ordering
and re-stocking of the dispensary, as well as to project a positive and
friendly image to dispensary patients and other visitors, deal with queries
and provide effective advice to patients relating to medications, lifestyle,
and ailments within the scope of your capability, all in a professional,
courteous, and efficient way. Training will be offered for the right
candidate. This part of the role requires lone working at times.
As Pharmacist Team
Co-ordinator you will support managing the workload our Pharmacist Team,
consisting of Pharmacists, who undertake medication reviews, medication
requests and chronic disease management and Pharmacy Technicians, who manage
medication changes and blood pressure monitoring. This will include booking patient
appointments, rota management, clinic organisation as well as conduct and
provide support for clinical reports and audits. This is a fast paced role
and the successful candidate will need to be able to adapt to the varying
demands of the role.
Main duties of the job
The role
is 16 hours per week across 3 days , Monday and Tuesday as Pharmacist Team
Co-ordinator 8.30am to 1.45pm at Plympton Health Centre and Thursday as
(Trainee) Dispenser 8am to 3pm at Wotter Medical Practice.
The
successfully candidate must be driven, able to work on their own and adapt to
daily challenging and changing demands. The Co-ordinator part of the role is to
support our Pharmacist Team with rota and work management, conduct clinical
audits/reports and support with medication related projects.
In
addition, the successful candidate must hold relevant dispensing qualification
to NVQ2 or be willing to train to achieve this. Training will be provided and
the external components fully funded.
Once
qualified the candidate will need a good understanding of stock control and
record keeping, to ensure sensible ordering with a twice a year stock take. The
role works alongside the wider practice to ensure personal administered items
are stocked to a suitable level.

Good working knowledge and experience
of using SystmOne or equivalent
Good computer skills including good
knowledge of databases and record keeping, Microsoft Word and Excel.

supervision and determine own workload priorities.
