Job summary

Do you have experience managing teams across sites, are you a Senior Administrator looking for a new role, or an established Team Leader who is looking for a new challenge. This could be the role for you.

We are looking for experienced Administration manager to manage a team of administrators and prescription clerks for a busy department. We need someone approachable, professional, and adaptable. Someone who will lead team development and be able to manage competing priorities.

The role is demanding and interesting and will require someone who is flexible and able to work under pressure. Previous experience of working in a practice administration setting would be welcome.

Main duties of the job

The administration team lead provides administration leadership and management to help deliver a high quality, comprehensive administration, and prescription service across the practice.

The post holder is expected to act on their own initiative daily to ensure the effective running of the department and services, prioritising their own workload as required and ensuring standards are maintained for the safe administration of patient correspondence and prescriptions.

The role will provide supervision and line management support including training, annual appraisals, absence management supported by auditing reporting and checking workload against set KPIs.

The post involves liaising with healthcare professions, external services, and patients.

The role requires to be dynamic, confident, be able to co-ordinate work and be the voice of the team.

Prioritises own workload to ensure effectiveness and efficiency to the department whilst working with minimum supervision.

Act as a focal point for all matters regrading the admin and prescription team and ensure that all functions are carried out in accordance with agreed procedures, protocols and timescales.

Strive to deliver the best service for the organisation and its Patients delivering high quality administration and priscription service for the PCN , leading improvements and efficiancies.

To set and follow clear standards required for NHS and Beacon for the organistion and patient care.

Qualifications

Essential

  • NVQ level 3 in administration or equivalent experience, or substantial experience in similar role will be considered.

Desirable

  • European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)
  • Commitment to continual training as required.
  • Medical terminology qualification.
  • Level 3 in leadership or management
