Job summary
Hours: Part Time 25 hours per week
Working Pattern: Rota basis between 7:00am 6:30pm (usually 5-hour shifts)
We are looking for a friendly, organised and motivated Medical Receptionist to join our busy and supportive practice team.
This is a key front-line role where you will be the first point of contact for patients both face-to-face and over the telephone. We are therefore looking for someone who is confident, approachable and passionate about delivering excellent customer service.
The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, be able to manage multiple tasks and remain calm and professional when dealing with a variety of patient enquiries. You will play an important role in ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the practice.
Main duties of the job
Provide a warm, professional and helpful welcome to patients and visitors Communicate effectively with patients, clinicians and external organisations via telephone and face-to-face contact Book, amend and manage patient appointments Respond to a wide range of patient enquiries in a timely and supportive manner Process prescription requests in line with practice procedures Open, sort and distribute incoming post and manage deliveries Scan, copy and accurately file patient documentation Receive and process patient payments where required Act as a central point of communication, taking messages and ensuring appropriate actions are completed
