Job summary
We are looking to hire a medical receptionist with excellent organisational and administrative skills. Medical receptionists are expected to be compassionate and discrete with superb time management and record-keeping skills.
To ensure success, medical receptionists should be confident with fantastic communication and interpersonal skills that will contribute to the efficient day-to-day running of the practice. Top candidates will work comfortably under pressure while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment and can effectively react to patient emergencies.
Shifts will be on a rota basis, working 25 hours per week between the practice opening hours of 7.00am-6.30pm, usually 5 hours a day.
Main duties of the job
- Communicate with patients, clinicians and external organisations both face-to-face and via the telephone.
- Make appointment bookings and respond to a variety of enquires
- Process prescriptions
- Open and sort post and take deliveries
- Scan/copy or file documents/patient notes
- Receive payments from patients
- Act as a central point of communication, taking messages and carrying out actions as required
- Offer general support to clinicians/patients, as required
