Job summary
Ruskington Medical Practice are looking to recruit a Health Care Support Worker to join the team. We are looking for a team player with a friendly, positive 'can do' attitude to assist our dedicated nursing and clinical team to help deliver excellent patient centred medical care.
The weekly hours for this position are 24 over 3 days, one day starting at 0700. Flexibility is required to cover sickness and holiday for other team members.
Interviews will be held on 4th January 2024 at Ruskington Medical Practice.
Main duties of the job
As HCSW you will be responsible for the efficient running of your daily clinics with a proactive attitude. On a daily basis you will complete phlebotomy, NHS health checks as well as carrying out baseline observations such as blood pressure and pulse rate checks.

The main duties of the role are:
- Phlebotomy
- Undertake new patient health checks
- Support the Practice Nursing team with health promotion programmes.
- Carry out baseline observations, such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, BMI and record finding accurately.
- Facilitate routine and 24 hour BP monitoring, advising patients accordingly Support the Practice Nurse team with the management of chronic disease clinics.
- Act as chaperone as required.
- Ensure specimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation.
- Ensure all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session.
- Ensure clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharp bins replaced in accordance with Practice policy.
- Accurate information listed in patient records
- Administer flu vaccinations -(Training provided)
- Carry out ECGs if requested- (Training provided)

- Level 3 Healthcare qualification or willing to work towards gaining the qualification.
