Hathaway Medical Centre based in Chippenham (SN14 6GT), are looking for a compassionate, enthusiastic and highly motivated person to join their friendly practice as a Medical Secretary/Data Administrator.If you enjoy working in a busy, caring environment and have a flexible and adaptable approach with excellent attention to detail, you may be the person we are looking for to join our valued team.The ideal candidate would have experience of using SystmOne, good knowledge of medical terminology, and worked as a medical secretary or administrator within the NHS.This is a permanent part time position however we are looking for applicants with availability to cover annual leave and sickness on a flexible basis. The position is 27 hours over 4 days per week, with shifts between 08:00-18:00.Applicants that are successful to the next stage of recruitment will be sent expected shifts ahead of interview.Previous applicants need not apply.
Main duties of the job
Medical Secretary Duties:
- Create and send referrals via e-referral system in an accurate manner.
- Send referral letters directly to hospitals.
- Manage secretary task box, ensuring urgent referrals such as two week waits are actioned in a timely manner.
- Manage secretary email inbox.
- Answering queries from professionals, staff and patients over email, face-to-face and over the phone.
- Expediting referrals as requested by GP.
Data Administrator Duties:
- Perform general clerical duties, such as filing, completing clerical and administrative work, including scanning, and indexing of all letters and documents.
- Process SARS and insurance queries.
- Deal with emails from internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Help with general queries from the public.
