Job summary

Octagon Medical Centre is seeking an experienced and motivated Practice Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, hardworking, and forward-thinking, with strong IT and organizational skills. You must be capable of working both independently and as part of our nursing team.

Key Qualifications:

  • High standards of clinical care
  • Sound decision-making abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Computer literacy, with experience in administrative duties
  • Preferably experienced with the EMIS web clinical system

Main duties of the job

Responsibilities:

  • Chronic Disease Management (all areas)
  • NHS Health Checks | Carers Health Checks
  • Urine Testing Samples
  • Venepuncture | ICE Forms
  • Cervical Cytology
  • Spirometry
  • ECGs
  • Child and Adult Immunisations (B12 | Depo's | Zoladex)
  • Travel Vaccines
  • Other General Practice Nurse duties for example: Ordering Vaccines | Stock Ration | IPC | Cold Chain - Fridge monitoring | Collaboration of equipment

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with the Quality and Outcome Framework (QOF)
  • Ability to meet practice targets

About us

We are a busy and friendly General Practice in the middle of the town with a practice list size of just over 6100 patients. We currently have 5 GPs and 2 practice nurse. We have an efficient administration team.We also have the added benefit from additional roles through our PCN:

  • MSK practitioner
  • Nursing Associate
  • Social Prescribing Link Workers
  • Pharmacist
  • Pharmacy Tech
  • Mental Health Practitioner.
