South Molton Medical Centre is a well-established, innovative GMS contract teaching practice, committed to providing high quality healthcare to our 12,600 diverse patients. We pride ourselves on being a progressive, forward thinking team, supported by an exceptional group of professionals.

  • Team: 8 Partners, 2 salaried GPs, supported by a varied multidisciplinary team of about 35 other staff members

Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive medical services as defined in the core GMS contract, and additional services where appropriate.
  • Deliver high-quality clinical care while working autonomously as a GP, adhering to GMC standards and the GMS contract.
  • Assess patient triage messages, ensuring patients are booked in with the appropriate Clinican or signposted to services more beneficial to patient needs
  • Manage a diverse caseload, including the assessment and treatment of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
  • Develop and implement care plans in consultation with patients, providing counselling and health education.
  • Complete a share of daily tasks, queries and prescription sign offs.
  • Maintain accurate, contemporaneous consultation notes using SystmOne, and manage prescriptions according to guidelines.
  • Participate in regular clinical meetings
  • Engage with local and national healthcare initiatives to enhance and sustain service delivery.
  • Contribute to the management and improvement of practice processes, ensuring adherence to policies on confidentiality, data protection, and health and safety.
  • Foster effective communication within the team and with patients, upholding equality, diversity, and patient confidentiality standards.
  • Engage in personal and professional development, including participating in annual appraisals, revalidation, and maintaining professional registration.
  • Responsibilities will reflect requirements of the NHS GP Contracts, and as such may be subject to change as services adapt.
