Job summary

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic fulltime Primary Care Dispensary Manager with an excellent working knowledge of SystmOne to join our friendly team at Mendlesham Medical Group.

Our traditional rural Dispensing Practice cares for over 7600 patients between two sites situated 4 miles apart both offering free parking.

The post holder will manage the day to day management of the Dispensary.

They will carry out duties in accordance with practice policies and procedures. The post holder is primarily responsible for the organisation of workload and supervision of all staff in the Dispensary.

Main duties of the job

    • To lead, manage and develop the pharmacy team
    • To support the achievement of the practice business goals and objectives
    • Maintain high dispensary housekeeping standards.

    The Practice has 3 Partners, 3 Salaried GPs and 2 Advanced Clinical Practitioner as well as fantastic nursing, dispensing and admin teams.

    Qualifications

    Essential

    • Good standard of education with excellent literacy and
    • numeracy skills
    • NVQ level 2 Dispensing qualification

    Desirable

    • Educated to degree level in healthcare or business
    • NVQ level 3 Dispensing qualification
    • Leadership and / or Management Qualification

    Experience

    Essential

    • Experience of working with the general public
    • Experience of working in a health care setting
    • Experience of workforce planning, forecasting and development
    • NHS / Primary Care General Practice experience
    • Relevant health and safety experience
    • Experience of chairing meetings, producing agendas and minutes

    Desirable

    • Experience of performance management, including appraisal writing, staff development and disciplinary procedures
    • Experience of successfully developing and implementing projects
