Job summary

The Friary Surgery, Richmond, North Yorkshire has a vacancy for an experienced Practice Nurse with Chronic Disease Management particularly Diabetes or Asthma/COPD to join our small busy team.

Working hours would be 08:30-17:30 Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

Main duties of the job

Your main duties will include but not exhaustive

Chronic disease managment

Treatment room duties

Management of infection control

Wound Care Manangement

Cytology

Vaccinations and Immunisations

Childhood immunisations

Work within all NICE guidelines and practice policies

Family planning

About us

The Friary Surgery is a semi-rural dispensing practice based in the beautiful North Yorkshire Dales town of Richmond. The practice is currently embarking on some major changes with a change in partnership taking place in May 2026.

We are one of seven practices within the North Yorkshire PCN, offering wider services to our patients including Pharmacists, Care Home Teams and Social Prescribers. The PCN Team continues to grow.

Job responsibilities

Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following qualities and experience:

Essential - Registered General Nurse with full Practice Nurse training and experience. Recognised qualification to diploma level or above. Full driving licence and own transport.

Competent in basic nursing duties, excellent communication skills.

Knowledge of chronic disease management and NHS screening programmes.

Cervical cytology

Enthusiasm to develop nursing skills.

Understanding and adherence to strict confidentiality.

Ability to manage own workload/priorities.

Able to work in a changing environment within a busy team.

Flexibility in working hours to cover annual leave/sickness etc
