Part-Time 10 hours per week (Monday to Friday, mornings or evenings)
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Practice Cleaner to join our team at Lime Grove Medical Centre.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the practice in line with our detailed cleaning schedules and infection control procedures. This includes using cleaning materials and equipment provided by the practice, in accordance with manufacturers' guidelines and health and safety regulations.
Key responsibilities include:

Cleaning designated areas of the building to a high standard

Safe use of cleaning products and equipment

Ensuring compliance with health and safety and infection control standards

Maintaining confidentiality and respecting the environment of a healthcare setting
Each cleaner will be assigned specific areas of responsibility and will work as part of a small, supportive team.
Working hours: 10 hours per week, Monday to Friday either in the morning or evening, by agreement.
Experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.

Main duties of the job
Carry out daily cleaning tasks in assigned areas, including consultation rooms, waiting areas, offices, toilets, and staff facilities

Follow detailed cleaning schedules to ensure all areas are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness

Use cleaning materials and equipment safely and effectively, in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and health and safety regulations

Ensure appropriate use, storage, and replenishment of cleaning supplies

Report any faults, damages, or potential health and safety risks to the Practice Manager or designated supervisor

Dispose of waste, including clinical waste, according to practice procedures

Adhere to infection prevention and control protocols at all times

Respect patient and staff confidentiality while working within the practice

Work independently and as part of a small team to ensure cleanliness standards are consistently met

Provide cover for other cleaning team members during periods of sickness or annual leave, where required

To ensure all tasks are performed safely and in compliance with Health and Safety regulations, maintaining a clean, hygienic, and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Each team member is usually assigned specific areas of responsibility. Larger areas such as waiting rooms may be covered by two or more team members.

Vacuum carpets and mats throughout the premises

Clean hard and soft floor surfaces using appropriate methods

Clean and disinfect toilets and washroom facilities

Clean kitchen areas including work surfaces and sinks

Clean telephony and computer equipment, fixtures, fittings, and high-touch surfaces in line with cleaning schedules
-
Collect and bag general waste for disposal in line with practice procedures
-
Collect and bag clinical waste for disposal in accordance with infection control protocols
-
Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, toilet rolls, and waste disposal bags
-
Report faulty equipment or conditions requiring attention to the Practice Manager or relevant lead
-
Monitor and manage stock levels of cleaning materials, requesting replenishment when required
-
Wash and disinfect waste bins as needed
-
Follow all Health and Safety procedures, including safe use and storage of cleaning materials

Record the cleaning of each area to maintain an auditable log

Attend training sessions and complete required training relevant to the role
