Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time phlebotomist to join our Nursing team. Working under the direct supervision of the lead nurse, and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the post-holder will be responsible for performing blood tests and blood pressure checks.
Main duties of the job
- Taking, collecting, and storing samples of blood in accordance with training and procedures.
- Accurate, legible labelling of all samples to confirm patient identity
- Recording collection of blood sample in patient record in accordance with practice procedure
- Ensuring that samples are dispatched to the appropriate laboratories in a timely fashion
- Taking and recording blood pressure readings in patient record in accordance with practice procedure
