Job summary

We are looking to recruit a Phlebotomist who would be happy to upskill and become a HCA. The candidate should be fully qualified in phlebotomy with a minimum of one years experience and have a really passion for learning new skills.

Main duties of the job

You will need: Relevant experience, and a qualification in phlebotomy with a minimum of one years experience.

Future role development for the right candidate if a requirement is needed in surgery

Good standard of education including qualification in English and Maths (GCSE grade A-C, or equivalent)

Use of clinical IT systems - EMIS, Docman

Knowledge of Information Governance and Caldicott Principles

Understanding of Clinical Governance

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information

Excellent interpersonal skills and time management

Experience in Phlebotomy is ESSENTIAL.

Flexible to meet the demands of the post and the ability to adapt to a changing environment.

About us

We are a rural dispensing two Partner Practice in the village of Lapworth with a population of around 3000 patients. We have one part time Practice Nurse and a great supportive Reception and Admin team.

Job responsibilities

As a phlebotomist the post holder will collect routine blood from patients as and when required. You will be required to train towards being our HCA and this may involve attending courses outside your core working hours and we ask that at all times you maintain a high standard of quality patient care and staff, morale through personal example, good conduct and appearance.
