Prescribing Clerk

Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic prescribing clerk to join our existing team of two pharmacy technicians and one prescribing clerk to assist in our prescribing processes.

Main duties of the job

  • Processing of patient repeat medication requests in an accurate and timely manner.
  • To query acute medication requests as appropriate with a clinician.
  • Process wound formulary requests from nursing homes, care homes and district nurses in line with ICB wound formulary guidelines.
  • Workflow documents to be actioned in line with practice protocol.
  • Dealing with patients queries face to face, via email and via telephone as and when required.
  • Liaising with pharmacies, Nursing Homes, NHS colleagues and practice clinicians.
  • Completing tasks from GPs and other colleagues where appropriate.
