Job summary
We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our team for one to two days per week, with complete flexibility on working days and hours.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and proactive individual with proven experience in primary care finance, particularly within general practice. The successful candidate will play a key role in rebuilding and modernising our financial systems and processes, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across all areas of the practice.
This is a hands-on position suited to someone confident working independently with minimal supervision. You will oversee payroll, pensions, claims, reporting, and budgeting, supporting the leadership team in driving financial stability and innovation.

Main duties of the job
Full review and rebuild of financial systems and processes.
Responsible for budget planning, forecasting, and ongoing financial monitoring.
Processing staff payroll, pension contributions, and statutory payments in line with NHS requirements.
Management of financial claims including CQRS, PCNreimbursements, ARRS funding, and other income streams.
Preparation of accurate and timely financial reports for both internal use and external bodies.
Support for CQC, NHS England, and PCN financial compliance.
Regular liaison with external accountants, auditors, and NHS organisations to ensure financial accuracy and governance.

- Accurately monitor cash flow, forecast and predict workflow corresponding to

- Review all income and expenditure statements, identifying any inaccuracies
and rectifying such issues
- Ensure invoices are paid within the given time frame
- Maintain an effective system for the handling of petty cash and cheques
- Submit year-end figures liaising with the organisations accountant
