Nursing associate- maternity cover (30-37.5 hours per week)

Job summary

We are looking for a qualified Nursing Associate to join our busy and friendly team at the Hollies Medical Practice in Tamworth.

The Hollies has approximately 16000 registered patients. We have an excellent supportive team and take pride in delivering a high standard of care to our patients. As a training practice, we also regularly have GP registrars and medical students working at the practice.

Main duties of the job

The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and excellent communication skills. They will support the delivery of the following services to patients:

  • Provide routine nursing tasks, such as blood pressure checks, weight and height measurements, pulse, ECG, phlebotomy and lifestyle advise.
  • If trained and assessed as competent, undertake cervical sample taking under supervision.
  • Support chronic disease management, including carrying out annual health reviews for patients with asthma or diabetes patients, including foot checks.
  • Provide healthy lifestyle advice regarding diet, exercise and smoking.
  • Administer immunations under a patient specific directive
  • Assist in minor surgery procedures and implant clinics.
  • Chaperone and assist patients who are being examined by a clinician

The practice uses EMIS Web, and although experience in using this system is desirable training will be provided.

Applicants must hold a current NMC registration and be committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
