Job responsibilities
The post holder will work as a member of the Healthcare Team, offering
directed treatments to meet the needs of patients under indirect supervision of
the Registered Practice Nurse and/or General Practitioner.
The post holder will receive, assist and direct patients in a courteous,
efficient and effective way, utilising excellent communication skills. They will at all times project a positive and
friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or over the
telephone.
Responsibilities:-
Clinical
To provide high quality patient care to the Practice
population as directed by the Practice Nursing Lead, and communicate this
effectively and appropriately within the clinical Practice team.
To work as a supervised member of the healthcare
team, performing delegated nursing duties and have the insight and confidence
to recognise and work at all times within the boundaries of safe Practice based
on your own competence and the limitations of the HA role.
Measurement and Investigations
Provide a phlebotomy service.
Blood pressure, pulse rate and rhythm, respiratory
rate, temperature, height and weight, waist circumference and body mass index,
compression stocking measurement.
Urinalysis and preparation of specimens for Path lab
investigation.
Blood glucose measuring and near patient lipid
screening.
Dressings/Wound Care including Doppler and
compression bandaging.
Administrative/Educational
Contribute
to the assessment of service needs.
Managing
and organising individual patient consultations.
Recording
and reporting in accordance with Practice protocol.
Attend
staff meetings.
Support
the Practice clinical governance agenda.
Maintaining
any stock and equipment in accordance with practice protocol.
Identify
changes to clinical practice that are required to implement evidence Practice
Guidelines.
Participate
in continuing education, maintaining clinical competencies.
OTHER:-
This job

accordance with the Practice policies and procedures relating to
confidentiality and the protection of personal and sensitive data.
